Difference in Installation Methods

A “back-to-back installation” refers to method of installing a split system air conditioner where the outdoor unit is mounted directly behind the indoor unit on the same exterior wall, placing them “back-to-back” with each other.

Long Run
In cases where the outdoor unit needs to be positioned further away from the indoor unit, we offer long run installations. These involve additional piping and materials tailored to your specific requirements. We will provide a transparent quote based on the distance and materials needed.

installation includes:

· Copper/Aluminium piping and communication cabling (included with your purchased air conditioner)
· 1 meter power cable
· Installation on either the Ground or First floor, with a single hole drilled for access.
· *Note: Additional charges may apply depending on the specifics of the installation.

Exclusions
· Extra Piping
· Trunking
· Extension Ladder or Scaffolding
· Additional Holes (more than 1)
· Extra Power Cable· Transport Cost beyond 20km from business address.

AIRCON INSTALLATION COSTS

· Standard Back-to-Back Aircon Installation from 9000 BTU-30000 BTU = R1950

· Electrical points – For air conditioning units sized of 18000 BTU and above, an electrical point will need to be installed. This includes the installation of an isolator, a circuit breaker connected to your Distribution board, and additional power cable. This will be an additional cost of R1650.

Alaska Air conditioners emphasizes that our products are intended for installation and handling exclusively by certified and qualified HVAC professionals. R32 refrigerant is classified as flammable (A2L), and incorrect handling or installation presents serious safety hazards, including but not limited to fire, explosion, injury, or property damage.
 
Resale of Alaska Air conditioner units to end users or unqualified parties is strictly prohibited. These units are not designed for DIY installation and must be installed, commissioned, and serviced only by persons who are certified and trained in accordance with:
•SANS 10147 – Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Systems
•SANS 10142 – The Wiring of Premises (Electrical Installations)
•All other applicable South African National Standards governing refrigerants and safety compliance.
 
Installer Responsibility & Industry Compliance
 
If you, as an installer or business, are not proficient in your knowledge of R32 refrigerant and its associated safety requirements, the onus is entirely on you to acquire the necessary training and knowledge. The HVAC industry continues to evolve and adopt new technologies and standards, and it is the responsibility of every professional to remain compliant and competent.

•Failure to follow the manufacturer’s installation guidelines and statutory safety requirements.
 
By purchasing or handling our products, all parties acknowledge and agree to these terms. Any deviation from these requirements will immediately void all warranties, technical support, and legal cover by Alaska Air conditioners.
